SEB Throttling

In November 2022, our dream drove down to the desert with our in house electronic pressure regulation system with a new ambition: to become the first collegiate team to successfully throttle a liquid rocket engine. By continuously actuating ball valves with tightly tuned controllers, E-Regs allow us to achieve flexible, precise control over downstream pressures. This not only improves the efficiency and thrust of our engine, but by using 4 of our custom valves promises exciting new capabilities, including the ability to dynamically control the engine’s thrust. This endeavor was led independently to the Lander Challenge, which was was only launched the next year.
