Motor-Based Deployment Systems

Smaller rocket motors will sometimes have their deployment charge built into the motor, so there is no need for onboard deployment electronics.

When there is a deployment system installed in a motor, it can be identified by a -(val) at the end of the motor name:

C6-3

In this example, the motor has a 3 second delay between motor burnout to charge deployment.

For very small motors, such as Estes, there is no way to modify the power or delay of this charge. For larger motors, like an Aerotech, the charge size can be changed and the delay can be modified using a delay drill. In these motors, the deployment charge can also be completely removed.  Consult the motor manual for more information.
