Meeting to discuss propellant feed system for CPLC engine.

  • Discuss feed system

    • Identify important stats such as line size, flow velocities, m_dot, etc.

    • Consider engine name

  • USLI style documentation (Proposal, PDR, CDR, etc.) for the engine.

Notes

Max N2O flow velocity

Found individual m_dot from MR

  • 0.88 kg/s for OX

  • 0.22 kg/s for IPA

Applied that to piping

  • Used m_dot=rho*V*A

  • Used rho of 915.4 kg/m^3 for OX

  • rho of 788.9 kg/m^3 for fuel

  • Used: CPLC_feed_system_tubing_sizing.m

Rounding

  • We got a min tube size (caveats involved here) of 0.42 in. We rounded up to 0.5 in. This gives us the safer COTS tubing and gives a lower (safer) velocity per EIGA paper linked above).
