In November 2022, our dream drove down to the desert with our in house electronic pressure regulation system with a new ambition: to become the first collegiate team to successfully throttle a liquid rocket engine. By continuously actuating ball valves with tightly tuned controllers, E-Regs allow us to achieve flexible, precise control over downstream pressures. This not only improves the efficiency and thrust of our engine, but by using 4 of our custom valves promises exciting new capabilities, including the ability to dynamically control the engine’s thrust.
